The Covid-19 pandemic has taught us some valuable lessons regarding the importance of access to basic banking services during tough times. While government initiatives such as the ‘Jan Dhan Yojana’ helped to ensure the swift disbursal of financial assistance to millions of bank accounts through ‘Direct Benefit Transfer’, customers especially in rural areas did face some challenges in accessing these entitlements.
